Vietnam business visa is categorized as type B visa which is granted to those who enter Vietnam for business purpose or who wish to stay longer than 1 month. Normally, business visa is 3 months single or multiple entry visa (6 months entry visa is no longer available). It can be obtained at Vietnam Embassy or Consulate in abroad or at Vietnamese International Airports when using visa on arrival service.

For those who is living not far from Vietnam Embassy or Consulate, they fell free to make an application in person if they could provide a sponsor letter by a licensed Vietnamese company. The visa cost will vary on the Vietnam Embassy or Consulate in each countries.

Things are different with Vietnam visa on arrival. When applying a business visa on arrival, you don't have to present any sponsor letter, original passport, air ticket nor hotel voucher. You just need to fill in an online application form with required information then submit. Your visa approval letter will be done within 2 working days normally or in just 2 - 4 hours in emergency cases. You are obliged to pay for 2 kind of fees including processing fee and stamping fee.

Processing fee will vary on each local visa agency but it is somewhere from 20 USD for single entry visa or 50 - 60 USD for multiple entry visa. This fee might change frequently due to the Vietnam Immigration policies. If the Government's policies on business visa is loosen, the fee will be lower and vice versa. However, this fee is much cheaper than business visa application in the Vietnam Embassy in foreign countries.

Besides the processing fee paying to the local visa agency to process an approval letter, applicants are required to pay a stamping fee to the Immigration Counter at arrival airport to get visa stamped. This stamping fee can't pay in advance with the processing fee since it is an administration fee which is considered as a state's source of revenue. The stamping fee for 3 months single entry is 45 USD and 95 USD for multiple entry visa.
